Posted on: December 22, 2022[ARCHIVED] High Wind Warning-12/22, 8:23am

A strong storm will impact our area beginning tonight and lasting through Saturday morning. The greatest threats from this system are high winds and coastal flooding.
A high wind warning has been issued from 1 a.m. on Friday to 7 a.m. on Saturday. A coastal flood warning has been issued from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Frigid temperatures are also expected late Friday into Saturday and may cause hazardous
conditions for driving along with some ocean effect snow.
There is a possibility of losing power so please plan for a potential outage including charging your electronic devices. If you lose power, call Eversource at 1-800-592-2000 or use the Eversource app to report the outage and sign up for restoration alerts. Please note that high winds may delay restoration work. If you see downed wires, stay away and call 911.
The Town of Eastham Emergency Management Team is prepared to respond before, during, and after the storm. Town Public safety departments met today and are prepared with equipment and staffing to respond to any situation as needed. All town departments are in constant communication and work together to meet the needs of our community.
If the storm escalates to where shelters and warming centers are needed, that will be addressed when that situation arises.
Let’s all hope for minimal impacts so that we can all move on with the holiday weekend. Updates will be issued during the day tomorrow if warranted. On behalf of all the staff at the Town of Eastham, I want to wish you and your families a happy and safe holiday season. Thank you.
