[ARCHIVED] 9/14 Morning Update

Good morning, Eastham!  Due to the uncertainty of the forecast surrounding Hurricane Lee, we have been hesitant to put out too much information in the previous days.  Please know that the Eastham Public Safety Team has been closely monitoring the ever-changing forecast and coordinating with our Cape Cod emergency management partners in the background.
What we know at this point is that Eastham is likely to experience tropical storm force winds beginning late Friday night and continuing through the day on Saturday.  Wind gusts up to 75mph are possible along with 2-3 inches of rain.  Coastal flooding is also possible.  If this occurs, power outages and other storm related damage is likely.
We will be participating in local and statewide emergency management conference calls today and tomorrow and will release more information as we feel more confident in the forecast.
Please consider taking standard storm preparations at this time such securing loose yard items and preparing for the possibility of losing power.
