The Eastham Emergency Management Team continues to closely monitor Hurricane Lee.  The latest forecasts predict winds picking up this evening and overnight, with the strongest winds predicted to be between 5:00am and 8:00am tomorrow.  Wind gust of 50-60 mph are anticipated along with around 1” of rain.  
All Eastham Public Safety departments have put on extra coverage and are prepared to respond to any storm related incidents that may arise.  At this time there are no plans to open our regional shelter, however we are prepared to do so if circumstances change and the need arises.  We encourage everyone to please not travel during the storm, if possible, and if you do lose power please report the outage directly to Eversource at 1-800-592-2000 or online at: eversource.com/content/ema-c/residential/outages

Conditions should begin to improve by mid to late afternoon tomorrow and the forecast for Sunday is still looking good!
