9-5-13 Zoning Board of Appeals. A Zoning Board of Appeals of five members and two alternates shall be appointed by the Board of Selectmen for three-year overlapping terms.
New zoning bylaw amendments for residential site coverage adopted at the May 2023 Annual Town Meeting are now in effect.
The new bylaws place limits on site coverage and gross floor area for residential development. The new bylaws also calculate site coverage on buildable upland (not total lot area). Please refer tozoning bylawsection 7.4 Residential Lot Intensity and sub sections 7.4.1, 7.4.2 and 7.4.3 to verify the site coverage limits and development potential for residential projects. New zoning bylaw amendments prohibiting clear cutting and requiring maintenance of perimeter vegetation on residential properties.
Undeveloped lots: Clear cutting & removal of "Lagacy Trees" prohibited without first obtaining a building permit. See zoning bylaw section 6.11.
Developed Lots: An area of not less than 6 feet around perimeter of the lot shall be landscaped with grass, shrubs or other plants. See zoning bylaw section 7.2.6
