What We Do & Who We Are
The Eastham Fire Department provides fire and emergency medical services (EMS) to the Town of Eastham, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
The department has 23 career personnel, including a Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, and a civilian Administrative Assistant. These personnel work Monday through Fridays 8 am to 4 pm. The remaining 20 personnel work a rotating schedule of 24-hour shifts of five personnel each. Each career member of the fire department is cross-trained in firefighting and EMS, with 12 Firefighter/Paramedics and eight Firefighter/EMT-Basics.
The Eastham Fire Rescue Department operates out of one station with a combination of 13 pieces of apparatus and equipment. We respond on average to 2,200 calls for service annually.
Operating within a broad range of services, the department responds to not only fire and medical emergencies, but we also respond to fire alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, motor vehicle accidents, beach/water rescues, hazardous material spills, technical rescues, boating emergencies, investigations, and citizen assists.
The Eastham Fire Department is committed to providing fire and life safety services to the entire community. One way the Fire Department provides such services is through aggressive Fire Prevention and Public Education programs. The Eastham Fire Rescue Department works closely with all other town departments to provide a safe community to live, work, and vacation.
