Ø       Health Care Proxy -  A health care proxy is a legal document that allows you to name a person (called a health care agent) to make health care decisions for you in the event that you are not able to do so for yourself.  The person you choose should understand your values and beliefs and the types of treatment you would want in different situations.

Ø       Durable Power of Attorney – A durable power of attorney is a legal document naming another person to have the authority to legally act on your behalf.  This authority will continue even if you become legally incompetent.  The durable power also allows you to nominate your own guardian if such proceedings become necessary.

Ø       Will – A will is a legal declaration of how one wishes one’s possessions to be disposed of after one’s death.

Ø       File of Life - The File of Life is a small magnetized sleeve that contains all your medical information.  It is placed on your refrigerator in case of emergency.  There is also a smaller file of life that can be kept in your wallet.

Ø       Declaration of Homestead – The Homestead law permits an owner of real estate 62 years or older to claim a homestead protection of up to $300,000 per individual against creditor attachment, seizure or execution of judgment for the payment of outstanding debts.  The home must be the primary residence.

Ø       The Organizer  - The Organizer helps you to put all your personal business in one place so that it can be accessed in an emergency.
