ROCK HARBOR WAITING LIST REGULATIONS
The laws of supply and demand for boat dockage apply to the facilities at Rock Harbor. The Town maintains a total of 39 slips in two categories as follows:
Inside ~for vessels with overall length less than or equal to 22'0", beam less than or equal to 8'0" and draft less than 2'6" ~~
Outside for vessels of length appropriate to assigned slip greater than 22' but not to exceed 33'6", beam less than or equal to 11'6" and draft less than 4'6"). ~This language reflects the fact that the spacing between pilings is not equal along the float and accommodation must be made for the availability of space.
A waiting list has been maintained for over twenty years for the purpose of serving applicants who wish to be considered for dockage in the future. ~It is established on a first-come first-served basis and is subject to annual renewal. ~Typically the renewal notices are mailed in February and updates to the waiting list are published in the summer after the assignments for the year are completed.
Typically, applicants are considering a ten to twelve year waiting period. ~One's position rises fairly quickly initially, but as it nears the top of the list it slows down as people become anxious to actually obtain a slip as the opportunity becomes more real. Although the outside list is shorter, it moves more slowly because there are fewer available slips on the outside -- generally it is also a 10 - 12 year time period.. ~In order to secure a place, you will need to print and complete the application form with the information about the boat you are considering -- although it is not a requirement that you have the exact vessel at the time the slip becomes available. The important aspects are those parameters which would determine the appropriate site (designated on the top part of the form). It is possible to maintain a position on both
lists simultaneously. The annual fee is $15. for each waiting list and a separate form must be submitted for each of the two lists. ~Additionally, the position is specific to an individual, not a vessel and is not transferable even among family members._blank
Complete the application and send via postal mail with the fee of $15.00 for each application to :
