Growing in popularity, the 2nd Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run took place on June 12th, to support the Special Olympics. This event involves carrying a lighted torch from Provincetown to Boston, by members of law enforcement. Numerous police departments get involved and Eastham's number grew from 4 officers (last year), to 6, this year. In addition, we recruited Dispatcher Adams, members from the National Park Service and even a retired Weymouth Sergeant to participate in Eastham's portion of the race this year. Eastham's portion of the race included
Aspinet Rd. to the Orleans District Court where the torch was received from Wellfleet officers and passed onto Orleans officers.
