Minutes of October 19, 2009 Classification Hearing
Public Hearing convened at 5:10 p.m.
Present: Assessors Sette, Avery, and Fagan, Deputy Assessor Gail Fitzback, and the Board of Selectmen
- The Classification Hearing was held at 5:10 p.m. with the Board of Selectmen and the Board of Assessors.
- After review and explanation of all available options by the Board of Assessors, the Board of Selectmen voted by unanimous vote:
- The adoption of a residential factor of 1 (one) which sets a single tax rate for both residential and commercial.
- Not to grant a discount to Open Space.
- Not to grant a residential exemption.
- Not to grant a small commercial exemption.
- Gail Fitzback indicated that the Town has not received final certification of the FY10 values by the Department of Revenue as of the Classification Hearing. It will be necessary for the Selectmen to hold a follow-up meeting to review and ratify the Classification Hearing votes and sign the LA-5 to authorize the excess levy capacity after final certification is received.
The meeting of the Board of Assessors adjourned at 5:20 p.m.
